Seam Binding Lampshade

Found on www.MarthaStewart.com

I have been thinking about what to do for a lamp in my bedroom and I want to paint the base a clean crisp white and do something to the lampshade and this seems like the perfect idea.

What have you done lately or have on your eventually get to list, like me? 🙂

Baby Boom

As I am watching the movie Baby Boom I wish Brad and I would inherit a baby. 🙂 I would love to have someone leave me a baby although I would hate for the child to lose their parents. I also LOVE the yellow home with the blue shutters that she buys in Hadleyville, Vermont!

Of course I could NEVER get Hubby to move up North. He hates cold weather and I hate hot weather.
So we are at an impasse and will probably have to live in NC FOREVER!
Hooked on Houses shows more of the inside of the house here. Check it out because she also shows alot more houses and there is sooooo much FUN stuff to read if you are like me and HOOKED on Houses!

Pregnancy!

I feel like everyone around me is getting pregnant and my time will never come.  I feel like the girl who is always a bridesmaid but never a bride, just with pregnancy!  I hope you have a plan God because I am sure getting tired of this. 😦

CNA

I am starting the CNA program at my local community college today and I am super excited but also nervous!  I am thankful that my sister just graduated with a RT degree because she will be able to help me with a lot of it.  She has already showed me how to take Blood Pressure and listen to the heart.  She is super awesome and I am so blessed to have her in my life.  Here she is….believe me we look nothing alike.

This is me and her at my wedding in 2007.  Sorry the pic is not better

Anyways its so funny that this is the picture I found of us because now she is getting married in November too. I am also planning her bridal shower next month and I cannot wait!

Thanks for reading my blog!

Fun with Wood

I love kids furniture. Not only because of the designs, but because of the bright colors.

I love this design I got from Colorful Nightstands!_

Child's Nightstand

These are beginner woodworking projects and it gives step by step instructions.  My stepson is a baseball fanatic of the Yankees and I would love to make a table like this with the Yankees symbol and colors.  Oh to have a Silouette!

Monkey See, Monkey Do at the Zoo!

Me, B, and Dyl went to the NC Zoo today and had a blast!  Cannot believe how much fun we had and Dyl is almost 13.  He was the “perfect” tour guide even though it had been 6 years since he had been too.  He kept us laughing!  I love my hubby monkey and son monkey!

Our tour guide!

This Polar Bear was pooped!

The Ocelets were my favorites…They were just born in March. 🙂 Above and Below

D was ALL smiles!
B was happy too!  He is so handsome!

We saw so many animals and had a blast!  Love my monkeys!

Kitchen Part 2

In another post I showed you my kitchen as it is. Now I am going to show you what I dream about doing to it….that is, if we didn’t have it for sale.

First I would paint my oak color(I think thats the color) cabinets a pretty white like this:

I also like the glass doors.  My kitchen needs brightening up really bad so with the fresh white cabinets and some nice cabinet and drawer hardware like this from Lowes:

The real thing that would brighten it up for me would be a window behind the sink and a subtle yellow, maybe something like this:
Valspar 8 oz. Paint Sample - Warm Summer
Valspar Warm Summer from Lowes
Valspar 8 oz. Paint Sample - Chickery Chick
Valspar Phoenix at Noon from Lowes
Thats just a few of the many samples I like in yellow.
This kitchen about looks exactly like I am going for except for the floor.
bright, blue, yellow, blue and brown tile splash gives the kitchen remodel a vivid design and makes the modern, white cabinets pop against the stainless steel refrigerator, stove and microwave
This is just the beginning….then there is the furniture, but that will be for another day.
